Forged ring is our ring rolling solution for high-strength circular components. Ring rolling creates seamless forged rings with continuous circumferential grain flow. Compared to rings machined directly from bar stock, forged rings offer superior radial strength, fatigue resistance, and impact resistance. Our forged rings serve wind turbine bearing rings, construction machinery slewing rings, oil drilling tool connectors, heavy truck wheel hubs, and large flange seal rings. Every forged ring we produce delivers exceptional reliability in demanding applications.
Ring Rolling and Heat Treatment Process
Our forged ring blanks come from specialized ring rolling partners we audit regularly to ensure consistent quality. We complete precision machining in our own factory. Ring sizes cover outer diameter Φ200-Φ1500mm, wall thickness 20-150mm, and height 30-300mm. Materials include carbon steel, alloy steel (42CrMo, 34CrNiMo6), stainless steel, and bearing steel (GCr15SiMn). After rolling, rings undergo normalizing or quenching + tempering. For 42CrMo in quenched + tempered condition, tensile strength reaches above 900MPa, yield strength above 750MPa, and impact energy at -40°C reaches above 27J. These properties meet the strict requirements of wind power and construction machinery applications.
Deformation Control and Precision Machining
The machining challenge for forged rings is deformation control in large thin-walled structures. Our machining solution uses vertical lathes with custom fixtures. We use small cuts and multiple passes through roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing stages. Natural aging between stages releases stress. Our forged rings achieve IT7 accuracy for outer and inner diameters. End face flatness is within 0.03mm. Wall thickness deviation is within 0.05mm. For high-precision applications like wind turbine bearing rings, we offer grinding services for IT5 accuracy and Ra≤0.4μm surface finish. Quality control focuses on ultrasonic testing for internal defects (cracks, inclusions, white spots), hardness testing for uniformity (deviation within ±20HB), metallographic examination, and CMM dimensional inspection. Complete inspection reports accompany every batch. Standard production is 30-50 days. We accept orders starting from 1 piece. Standard warranty is 1 year.
