Machined Iron Casting
Our customers in the automotive, pump, valve, and automation industries need parts that are both durable and interchangeable. Machined iron casting meets these requirements perfectly. The casting retains the vibration damping and wear resistance of iron. The machining adds the precision needed for assembly.
- Product Introduction
Precision Machining for Iron Castings
Machined iron casting is one of our most frequently produced product types. This product starts as a cast iron blank. We then machine it through turning, milling, drilling, and boring operations. These processes give the part higher dimensional accuracy and smoother surface quality. Our customers in the automotive, pump, valve, and automation industries need parts that are both durable and interchangeable. Machined iron casting meets these requirements perfectly. The casting retains the vibration damping and wear resistance of iron. The machining adds the precision needed for assembly.
Advanced Equipment and Process Control
Our factory has over 60 CNC machines, including vertical and horizontal machining centers and CNC lathes. We pay special attention to tool selection and cutting parameters for iron castings. Iron is hard and produces powdery chips. It requires special tools and adequate cooling. Our process engineers develop custom machining plans for each order. They consider the material grade (gray iron HT250, ductile iron QT500, etc.) and the tolerance requirements on the drawing. For mating surfaces with flatness within 0.02mm, we use finish milling and lapping. For deep holes, we use through-coolant drills and pecking cycles. These methods ensure stable hole diameter and surface roughness. Our machined iron casting achieves tolerances as tight as ±0.01mm.
Rigorous Inspection and Full Traceability
Our quality control system is especially important for machined iron casting. Common casting defects like porosity, sand holes, and hard spots only become visible after machining. We use a three-step inspection process. First-piece inspection uses a HEXAGON CMM for full dimension check. During production, operators self-inspect every 15 minutes. Quality inspectors do patrol checks every 2 hours with projectors and roughness testers. Before shipment, every part gets a visual inspection under 6000K light. We also do dimensional sampling per ISO 2859-1. Each machined iron casting has a production traveler card. This card traces back to the raw material batch, processing equipment, and operator. Standard production takes about 30 days. Rush orders can be expedited. Our on-time delivery rate is 98.2%. We provide real-time production updates with photos and videos at key stages. Product warranty is 1 year. If you find dimensional or surface issues, send us a report within 48 hours. We will replace the parts and cover the shipping cost if the issue is our fault.
