Mirror Finish Polishing for Metal Surfaces
Polishing is our mechanical and electrochemical surface finishing process. It creates a mirror-like bright finish on metal surfaces. Our polishing service mainly targets stainless steel, aluminum alloy, copper alloy, and zinc alloy. Applications include food machinery, medical devices, decorative hardware, sanitary ware, and optical instruments. These industries demand excellent appearance and cleanliness. Polishing removes machining marks, surface micro-defects, and oxide layers. The result is a smooth, bright, easy-to-clean surface. Every polishing job we deliver meets strict appearance and cleanliness standards.
Mechanical and Electrolytic Polishing Options
We offer both mechanical polishing and electrolytic polishing. Mechanical polishing uses polishing wheels (cloth wheels, sisal wheels) with polishing compounds (green wax, white wax) in progressive grit stages. We achieve mirror finish with Ra≤0.05μm. Our mechanical polishing equipment includes automatic polishing machines and manual polishing stations. We handle flat surfaces, curved surfaces, and complex shapes. Electrolytic polishing uses electrochemical dissolution. The workpiece serves as the anode in an electrolyte bath. This produces a uniform, clean, corrosion-resistant surface with satin or bright finish. Electrolytic polishing offers advantages: no mechanical stress or deformation, ability to treat complex internal cavities and dead ends, and cleaner surfaces suitable for food and medical applications. For food-grade stainless steel parts, we recommend electrolytic polishing.
Surface Quality and Cleanliness Verification
Quality control for polishing focuses on gloss, surface roughness, and cleanliness. We use surface roughness testers for Ra measurement. Gloss meters measure gloss at 60° incidence. For food and medical application parts, we perform additional surface cleanliness testing. This includes cotton swab wipe tests (no residue) and particle counting. Our polished stainless steel food equipment parts achieve Ra≤0.2μm (mechanical) or Ra≤0.4μm (electrolytic). This meets EHEDG hygienic design requirements. Polishing is a value-added service for demanding customers. Standard delivery is 3-7 days. We accept customer-supplied parts and one-stop machining plus polishing services. Our polishers have over 10 years of industry experience. They handle complex surface requirements expertly. We guarantee the agreed surface roughness and gloss level.
