Our CNC steel milling service covers all common steel types including carbon steel (AISI 1045, Q235), alloy steel (40Cr, 42CrMo), tool steel (SKD11, H13), and stainless steel (304, 316). Optimized Cutting Strategies for Steel

 

We have accumulated deep practical experience in steel milling. The biggest challenges in steel machining are cutting force and heat control. Wrong parameters cause rapid tool wear, surface burns, dimensional instability, and even tool breakage. Our process engineers develop custom machining plans for each order. They consider material hardness and drawing requirements. For harder steels (HRC30 and above), we prioritize coated carbide or CBN inserts. We run at lower cutting speeds (80-120m/min) with higher feed rates. This "heavy depth, low speed" strategy improves efficiency while protecting tools. We check insert wear regularly and replace them promptly. This ensures dimensional stability across every CNC steel milling batch.

High Accuracy and Strict Quality Control

 

Our CNC steel milling achieves industry-leading accuracy. With regularly calibrated machining centers, high-precision tool holders, and heat-shrink tooling, we consistently achieve dimensional tolerances of ±0.01mm. Position accuracy is within 0.02mm. Surface roughness reaches Ra≤0.8μm. We maintain CPK values above 1.33 for critical dimensions. In 2023, we machined 500 valve mounting seats for a German hydraulic equipment manufacturer. Bore size consistency reached ±0.008mm. The customer highly praised our capability. Quality control is especially important for CNC steel milling. We follow a strict three-inspection system. First-piece inspection uses a CMM for full dimension check. During production, operators self-inspect every 15 minutes. Quality inspectors patrol every 2 hours. Before shipment, we sample per ISO 2859-1. For critical dimensions, our online red ruby probe system provides real-time compensation. Our CNC steel milling batch defect rate is below 200ppm. We accept orders starting from 1 piece. Prototyping takes 3-7 days. Batch production takes 20-35 days. Standard warranty is 1 year.
