Maintenance and Care of Electric Height-Adjustable Desks

Aug 18, 2026|

Regular inspection and cleaning of the tabletop, frame, and lifting mechanism are essential for the daily maintenance of electric height-adjustable desks. Promptly wipe away any accumulated dust or liquid from the tabletop to prevent moisture from entering electrical components such as the controller and motor. Keep the surfaces of the frame and lifting columns clean-especially the connection points of the lifting columns-and avoid stacking debris around them. Additionally, ensure that the weight of items on the desk does not exceed the specified load capacity; prolonged overloading can damage the motor and transmission mechanism.

The lifting system is a key focus of maintenance. During daily use, observe whether the desk rises and lowers smoothly, checking for sticking, noticeable wobbling, or abnormal noise. If you notice a significant slowdown in lifting speed, uneven height between the two sides, or unusual motor sounds, stop using the desk immediately and investigate the cause. Generally, there is no need for users to frequently disassemble lifting columns or transmission parts or to apply lubricant themselves-particularly regarding internal components like the motor, lead screw, and control unit. Follow the product manual for maintenance to avoid equipment damage caused by improper handling.

Maintenance of the electrical components is equally important. Periodically check power cords, plugs, the controller, and all wiring for looseness, damage, or compression, and ensure that cables are not pulled or strained during desk movement. When cleaning the control panel, avoid using excessive water, which could allow liquid to seep into the buttons and circuitry. Disconnect the power supply if the desk will not be used for an extended period. In the event of abnormalities-such as the motor failing to operate, the control panel malfunctioning, or a burning odor-cut off the power immediately and do not attempt to disassemble or repair the motor or controller yourself.
